Bloody hell !!! ... gorgious is not enough to say this is brilliant A R T (!)....
Making a decent ocean in 3d difficult? The U-boat looks hand painted, das ist wunderschön.
Not difficult, just a plane object with enough sub divisions to allow it to be shaped with enough detail.
I forgot the lights - The background is a simple gradient and the glow is distant light, with a large radius and shallow height, it's set to be volumetric and is given low density and brightness levels. The blue highlights are from a high mounted distant light with a blue volumetric set up. The sub is being lit with three spotlights set very orange and aimed at the bow, the tower and the side.
Thank you. I'm glad you like it. Photoshop was used for. Adding the crew members, wake effects, rain drips on the rails etc, tightening up the colours, levels and adding extra highlights. The sea mesh was my creation, the Destroyer is a payware model, the Sub is by Bazze. The initial explosion is LW and it has been helped in Photoshop.
That is just super cool looking! I'm curious how much was done in PS, and how much was straight out of lightwave?
