I shared a table with "Galland" and several other German Fighter Aces at a dinner at the Queen Mary , back in 1986.....hosted by Virginia Bader's Art Gallery...on a rare USA west coast tour.
Got him to autograph my "paperback" copy of his book "The first and Last".
After the war "Galland" became friends with Douglas Bader, Robert Standford Tuck and the lectured around the world on the air war and also autographed art prints that were specifically composed around the "their" historical combat exploits. Galland was great conversationalist. And a razor sharp memory of dates and events.
This has always been a favorite aircrat of mine. You did a beautiful job with this model, it exudes a fighter to be be contended with and Galland and Hartmann became a part of this great fighter plane. Well Done as always John.
